So, after our Finnish Christmas yesterday, we're having a good ol' British Christmas today! Turkey, parsnips, Brussels sprouts (yuck!), bacon-wrapped sausages, roast tatties, and all the trimmings! And perhaps a little of yesterday's left-over ham for good measure :) We've even got some Christmas crackers (if anyone knows what they are?), so the dining table will soon be filled with silly toys, awful jokes, and a healthy dose of disappointment ;-)
It's been a beautiful day here, about -10 c, bright sunshine, and crispy snow all around. And we're all hoping for a repeat of last night's fabulous Northern Light show! I've seen the Northern Lights a few times since I've lived in Finland, but last night I think was the most impressive display of all.
Just looking out of the window, I can see the sun setting, and the landscape turning pink. From the kitchen, I can smell the various culinary delights being prepared by our chef-in-residence :-P Now all I need is my slippers and a nice glass of glögi ;-) Merry Christmas, once again!
